Why Divorce Together?
From 6 April 2022, you can divorce together with a joint divorce application.
What is a joint divorce? It’s when you and your spouse make an application for divorce together. It works for couples who agree about getting a divorce and agree about all of the other issues, such as finances, property, children or any debts.
The divorce process doesn’t have to be a battle. When you divorce together, our solicitor will guide you both through the process. Using the same solicitor can save you both time and money. The first step is an initial assessment with our team.
What about our shared finances and children? Our fixed fee packages are an affordable way to get your divorce and make any agreement you’ve reached legally binding. You can find a list of our prices below.

How it works
When you both agree it’s over, it makes sense to divorce together. Here’s how the new divorce process will work. Start the process by booking a call with our experienced family law solicitors.
STEP ONE
Application
Prepare and submit your divorce statement and application.
STEP TWO
20 Week Reflection
An opportunity to reflect on your decision and work through any child or financial issues.
STEP THREE
Conditional Order
This stage says the court sees no reason why you cannot divorce. It was previously called a Decree Nisi.
STEP FOUR
6 Week Wait
After the conditional order, you need to wait six weeks and one day (a cooling off period) before your Final Order.
STEP FIVE
Final Order
The legal document that ends your marriage. It was previously called a Decree Absolute.
In most cases, a divorce will not be finalised in less than six months.
