Sarah Khan-Bashir named Lawyer of the Year in National Law Awards

Growing up, I didn’t see women who looked like me in court, events or boardrooms. But things are changing. The legal profession is changing.

The Modern Law Awards ceremony took place in London on 7 April 2022.  The firm was shortlisted in three categories:

• Boutique Law Firm of the Year (1-10 employees)
• Lawyer of the Year
• Marketing & Communications

We are delighted that Sarah was named Lawyer of the Year and the firm was Highly Commended as Boutique Law Firm of the Year. Each entry was assessed by an independent panel of judges, chaired by I. Stephanie Boyce, President of the Law Society of England & Wales and Vice-Chair Tom Heyon, Managing Partner of DLA Piper’s London Office.

Speaking after the awards, Sarah said:

“I’m feeling so grateful and overwhelmed. We’re a small firm from Bradford winning national law awards. Growing up, I didn’t see women who looked like me in court, events or boardrooms. But the legal profession is changing. These awards recognise the hard work, dedication and impact of my team. We had a wonderful evening and met so many lovely people. We’d like to say thank to the judges, the Modern Law Awards team and the continuing support of our friends and community.”
